The role of the air filter:
1. The air filtered by the air filter is mixed with fuel to form a combustible mixture and burned in the cylinder. If there is no air filter element in the intake system, the air entering the cylinder may carry fine gravel, particles or other incombustible foreign matter, which will cause wear or damage to the cylinder wall, piston, live cold ring, and valve. In order to ensure the reliable operation of the engine and prolong its service life, the air filter element is indispensable in a car;
2. The material of the air filter element is generally paper or fiber cloth, cotton yarn, non-woven fabric, felt, etc., especially paper materials are the most common. It is designed so that air can pass through, but foreign objects and particles will be blocked and unable to pass through;
3. After every period of use, there will be a lot of dust and foreign matter on the air filter. When doing regular maintenance of the car, the repairer will usually use a high-pressure air gun to clean it for you. The air filter element has a certain service life, which is generally a year or 20,000 kilometers in a car. It is recommended to replace it after the expiration date to ensure the clean air.
