【Mrefilter】The selection of air filter element
The selected air filter element must match the power, economy and reliability of the original engine. Filter (element ) can choose the original accessories, but also use the second brand. It should be noted that: the selected filter element should be accepted to verify whether it meets the performance requirements .
1. Rated air intake
Filter element air flow parameters should be greater than the allocation of engine with the rated air intake.
2. Filter material
There are some requirements for the filter material thickness, tension resistance, the original intake resistance, filtration accuracy and so on. Imported diesel dust requires air filtration accuracy of 5μm, domestic diesel engine should also be less than 20μm. High efficiency filter paper filtration accuracy of 2μm , ordinary imported filter paper for 30μm, while the domestic filter paper is only 80μm.
3. Filter element performance test
A. Flow-resistance (pressure drop) test to determine air flow pressure loss (flow-resistance or flow-pressure caving curve).
B. The original filter efficiency test can calculate the dust collection efficiency of the filter element, the normal filter element dust reduction rate should be more than 99%.
C. Dust capacity test and cumulative efficiency test filter element caused blockage by excessive dust, air intake resistance will increase, too. The intake air resistance is a limit value when the engine power is reduced by 5% or the fuel consumption rises by 5%. When this value is reached, the filter element must be cleaned or replaced. In the test, the fouling weight when the intake resistance or pressure drop reaches 7-46 kPa that is the dust storage capacity of the filter element, and the filtration efficiency during this test is the cumulative efficiency.
D. Original intake resistance test intake resistance (rated gas flow through the filter element under the inlet and outlet pressure difference) should not exceed 3.2kPa, then the power will drop, the engine will appear black smoke.
