The air filter of the generator set is an air inlet device for filtering particles and impurities in the working of a piston type generating set, which is composed of two parts of the filter element and the housing. The main requirements of the air cleaner is high filtration efficiency and low flow resistance, long time of continuous use without maintenance. When the generator works, if the air contains dust and other impurities, will aggravate the wear parts, so it must be equipped with air filter.
The air filter is divided into 3 types, which are inertia type, filter type and oil bath type.
1 inertial air filter: due to particle and impurity density is the density of the air, when the particles and impurities with air rotation or a sharp turn, centrifugal inertia force, can make the impurities separated from airflow.
2 filter air filter: guide the air flow through the metal filter or filter paper, the particle and impurity barrier, and adhesion on the filter element.
3 oil bath air filter: air filter is arranged at the bottom of the oil pan, the oil will flow sharp shock, particles and impurities in the oil viscosity and separation. By stirring up the oil droplets, with air flows through the filter, and the adhesion of the filter element. Replacement cycle of air filter for generating units
Commonly used generating units, every 500 hours to replace the air filter. Standby generator set, working 300 hours or 6 months to replace the filter. The usual maintenance of power generators, can remove the air filter, air gun blowing, the replacement cycle can be extended to 200 hours or three months.
