In order to make sure the normal working of common rail fuel injection system throughout its life, the fuel filter must be replaced regularly. During the maintenance of fuel filter, we should pay attention to the following points:
1.Before replacing the fuel filter, we need to prepare the new fuel filter and place it in a ready position to remove the old one and install a new one immediately, which is to prevent dirt come into the fuel pipeline.
2. The tubing removed from the old fuel filter must be immediately connected to the corresponding connector on the new fuel filter.
3. If there is a manual pump on the fuel filter, you need to use the manual pump and fill with fuel filter with fuel before assembling the new fuel filter.
4. Some high-pressure common rail fuel injection system can automatically and continuously exclude the air. For this model, you can’t open the high-pressure connector to remove the air.
5. When replacing the disposable fuel filter, you must pay attention to the direction of installation. The arrow on the fuel filter housing indicates the flow direction of the fuel. For example, some of the engine fuel filter port marked "IN" words, this end should be connected to the fuel tank. If installed backwards, it will increase internal resistance of the fuel filter. After a long period of fuel shocking, it will separate the paper and iron shell, and then the broken filter paper may be irregularly blocked into the oil port. In this way, the dropping of oil Pressure will cause difficulty in starting the engine irregularly.
6. When replacing the fuel filter, the clamps at both ends of the tubing should be replaced at the same time.
